Delete your account

You can delete your Squiryl account at any time, from inside the app or by contacting us. Deleting it erases the data in your Vault. Squiryl cannot recover it afterwards, because the keys that decrypt it are destroyed with it.

1. From the Squiryl app

1. Open the Squiryl app and sign in.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Scroll to Account and tap Delete account.
4. Confirm with your password, and your second factor if you use one.

Your account is then scheduled for deletion. You can cancel it by signing in again before the deletion date. We email you once the deletion has finished.

2. Without the app

If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us from the address on your account and we will handle the deletion:

We may need to verify that the request comes from the account holder. We respond within 30 days.

3. What is erased

• Every record in your Vault, including health, financial and identity details
• All uploaded documents and the files behind them
• Active data-sharing contracts, which are cancelled and the partners notified
• Your devices, recovery code, passkeys and sign-in details

4. What we have to keep, and why

The law requires us to retain a small amount of information after your account is deleted. None of it can be used to rebuild your Vault:

• A record that the deletion happened, kept as an audit trail
• Hashed identifiers used to prevent fraudulent re-registration

Uploaded files are removed immediately, but encrypted backup copies expire on a 90-day storage lock before the underlying data is reclaimed. Identity-check data held by our verification provider is deleted on request to that provider.
